One of the best features of your cell phone is the concept of personalizing it.  A great example of personalization is making your ring tone different from those around you.  An advantage to this is that you will not mistake someone else's ring tone for your phone ringing.   In most cases, your cell phone has a list of ring tones that your cellular phone company provides free of charge. These are usually nothing important or popular, but just simple songs that everyone can play.

When it comes to changing your cellular phone ring tone, you can either search online or within your phone.  Many of the new cellular phones offer the Internet as part of their service. With this feature you are able to connect on to the cellular phone company's web page and check out what tones that they are offering.   Internet connection from your cell phone is required to download these.

Sometimes you can find the song you are looking for and other times you are unable to.  Be patient, usually that song is out as a ring tone in a month or two.  You may stumble on a song or two that you wouldn't look for.  When you are changing your ring tone, keep in mind that your cellular company will charge you for the download time.

Either you pick from the list that your service provider gives you or go online and find a ring tone that you love, you should pick a song that you like or want. You may choose to pick a ring tone that you hate because then you'll answer your phone more quickly.  The choice is up to you.
